Why We Chose the Tripod Table Lamp

Tripod Table Lamp in sculpted wood-tone base, part of the Nilvara selection

Curation is easy to claim and harder to show. This series explains, piece by piece, what made something worth stocking.

What it is

A table lamp on a three-legged wooden base, 65 cm tall and 35 cm across, with a fabric shade and metal hardware.

Why it earned a place

The proportion lands in the useful middle. Most table lamps are either too short to light anything or too tall to sit under a shelf. At 65 cm this one is high enough to throw light across a console, and low enough to live on a bedside table without dominating it.

The tripod base solves a real problem. Three legs sit steadily on an uneven surface in a way a single column does not, and the open base takes up less visual weight than a solid one. You see through it, so it does not block whatever is behind.

The materials are legible. Natural wood, fabric, metal. Nothing pretending to be something else. That matters more in a lamp than in most objects, because a lamp is lit from the inside and every shortcut in the shade shows once you switch it on.

Where it works

Bedside tables, consoles, and the corner of a living room that needs a second light source rather than a brighter ceiling. The warm wood sits comfortably with neutrals, and with the darker palettes that have become common in contemporary Egyptian interiors.

What we will not claim

We did not make this lamp. What we can tell you is what it is made of, how large it is, and why it works in a room. That is the whole of what we know about it, and it is enough to choose by.
